Ford F150 Transmission Cooler Lines Hi, i recently purchased a 2016 f150 5.0 and the trans cooler lines are leaking. they are the lines from the cooler to the heat exchanger thing that ford calls the transmission warmer. the dealer wants 1700 to replace these 2 lines! seems ridiculous for a seemingly simple job. It takes a long time to do it, but all 3 of my 10r80's would creep up to 200 210. oddly, the gen3 ecoboost runs 15 25° cooler than the 2018 does. but somehow ford keeps the tranny warmer than the engine coolant on both my 2021 & 2022. they also tucked the cooler up on the side of the 10r80 instead of under it.

Heres the perminiant fix: 8 an hose and 1 2” tube adapter fittings, using the factory hard line connectors at the trans and cooler. would have liked to eliminate the alumnnum or zinc tubing (whatever it is). but could not find the proper connectors. tried to eliminate the stupid quick connect fitting at the cooler. 18604 posts · joined 2017. #2 · oct 20, 2020 (edited) you have a transmission cooler. it's just not visible from the grill area because it's underneath the truck. it's the only transmission cooler that ford equips the 10 speed (10r80) transmission with regardless of which tow package your truck is equipped with.
