Back To School Collaborative Mural 2017 Art With Mrs Nguyen Students were instructed to create a square patch with construction paper, that would be added to a nearly school wide collaborative mural project inspired by the work of libs elliot. at each of my tables i put a basket filled with 6"x6" squares, large. triangles (cut from 6"x6" squares), and 3"x3" squares in a number of different colors. Earlier this year, my co worker jayne found the idea to make a collaborative school wide paper mural based on the artwork of thank youx. the idea for a student mural originally came from jenell novello and you can see the lesson plan write up on artsonia. she also so generously provided the lesson plan and templates on google docs.

In 2004 i graduated from apsu with a degree in art education, and in 2007 i completed my graduate degree in educational leadership. our school is a title 1, k 5 elementary school, so i get to teach a wide variety of ages! these children are so sweet, give such great effort, and are so talented, i had to create a space where i could display. Do this on the shiny side of the paper. next, turn the mural over and use chalk pastels. after that, try oil pastels. after that, liquid watercolors and droppers pipettes. the white paper especially is super absorbent, like a sturdy paper towel and the liquid watercolor seeps in, mesmerizing the kids. after that, tempera paint. 26. imagine peace velvet art. peace is always a good idea, and this velvet art project provides a great opportunity to talk about what peace, harmony, and unity mean to your students. you can split them into smaller groups and assign a letter to each group to encourage small group collocation. learn more: s&s blog.
