Homemade Probiotic Coconut Yogurt вђ Dr Tara S Sunshine When using a mesophilic culture, leave the coconut milk out on the counter for 24 hours. thermophilic cultures (vegan yogurt, dairy yogurt, or a probiotic supplement), need to culture at 108 110 f (40 c). when using a thermophilic culture, heat the coconut milk to 110 f (40c). stir in the culture and maintain the temperature for 10 hours. Instructions. blend the coconut milk together with the coconut flakes, until the liquid is completely smooth. then transfer to a jar with a lid, open the probiotics capsules and stir in the histamine friendly probiotics. place the jar, without the lid on, in the oven overnight with just the oven light on, no additional heat. Mix the milk and probiotics by opening the capsules and adding the contents into the coconut milk. discard the capsules. optionally, add stevia or your sweetener of choice. close the lid tightly and shake. store the jar in a dark corner on your kitchen counter for three days, shaking or stirring with a clean spoon every 12 hours. Because your yogurt contains hundreds of billions of microorganisms, consuming, say, 1 2 cup per day can take the place of a probiotic capsule. the yogurt will yield greater bacterial counts than the original capsule, even if divided into six or seven servings. a quart batch of yogurt will therefore save you the cost of 6 days of probiotics.
