"it looks like a mess" is not the answer. "the legs look wrong" is much better. you can't learn how to "un mess" a drawing as a whole, but you can learn what the "right" legs look like. now, it's much easier to solve the problem "i can't draw a leg from imagination" than "i can't draw from imagination at all".
