Kawasaki Js550 Wiring Diagram The starter solenoid relay is usually located in the electrical box, which gives easier access and more protection from water. it has a red wire (positive) going to the battery and a red wire (positive) going to the starter. the two smaller wires go to the start stop switch. place a screw driver across these two posts and “jump” your starter. Clicking solenoid is usually due to low voltage or high resistance, (that causes voltage drop). test the voltage going into the solenoid and test the voltage going into the starter, (the big wire from the battery ). when testing for voltage drop, be sure to test while under load, during cranking. '10 650i 4000kms. starter solenoid is acting up on me. hit the starter button, sometimes i just get a click from the solenoid, sometimes it cranks over a 1. it's about 50 50. battery seems fine, and it's on a schumacher battery tender maintainer. headlights are nice and bright without the engine.
