Simply remove the linkage from the ball stud. slip the old washer off (if present) and slip the new washer over the ball stud. it will be a tight fit as the hole in the washer is approx. 8mm and the stud itself is about 13mm in diameter. once the washer is fitted, reattach the shift linkage end.
