Clothes Pin Art Doll Tutorial Make Your Own Miniature Dolls Etsy Storybook creatures. a reference for poseable art doll crafting basics. i have been making art dolls since 2015. they are very complex projects that require skills in multiple art fields and take a lot of patience and perseverance. the style of doll that i make requires the use of these skills: painting, sculpting, basic construction, sewing. At this point, i create a base wire armature for stationary dolls and styrofoam base for ball jointed dolls. having a good base really helps with the sculpting process. for example, keeping the proportions as intended, making your sculpture stronger or even saving some clay. usually, it’s the most time consuming part of doll making for me.
