Puteri Saadong Galleria Of Princess Around about 420 years ago, there lived a princess called puteri saadong. she was a legendary figure and famous along the stretch of land on the east coast of tanah melayu (now malaysia). known for her beauty, integrity, loyal, religious and most of all courageous with iron will, she was the favourite foster daughter to kelantan’s ruler cik. Puteri saadong. puteri saadong (died after 1671), was the queen regnant of kelantan in 1667–1671. she was the adopted daughter of siti wan kembang (che siti), the legendary queen of kelantan. she was the daughter of raja loyor [ms], the raja of jembal [ms], and married raja abdullah [ms]. siti wan kembang, who ruled from 1610 to 1667.

The main puteri healing tradition of kelantan is said, by some tok puteri (shamans), to have been created to console puteri saadong’s grieving spirit. the powerful position of women in traditional kelantanese society reveals itself not only in the realm of folklore but in the conspicuous presence of women in kelantan’s economic life. Puteri saadong was brought up in bukit marak by che siti, after her mother died. she succeeded her father as raja of jembal in 1663, and was later installed as raja of kelantan in 1667. she was captured by the siamese and forced to become a concubine of king narai of siam (now thailand) in order to spare her husband"s life. raja abdullah vowed.
